Internships at RBX: Interview with Natalia Perez

Internships at RBX: Interview with Natalia Perez

internships at rbx interview with natalia perez

Hello everyone. Today we want you to meet the latest addition to the team: Natalia Perez. She studied the higher vocational cycle in automation and robotics at Florida Universitaria, spent the last two months with us as an intern in the robotics department, and is now starting her professional career with RBX.

During her time here, Natalia had the chance to get involved in different tasks and projects related to industrial process automation. She worked closely with our robotics team, gaining valuable knowledge and practical skills in the field.

Her passion for automation and her positive attitude were reflected in how quickly she adapted to both the work environment and the team.

Today we want to share her experience in more depth, including her main achievements, the challenges she faced, and how this stage influenced her professional development and future goals.

Tell us a bit about your internship experience at our company. What tasks did you carry out and what projects did you work on?

In addition to the previous training with the KRC 4 we have at the office, I worked on real tasks such as documentation. That is where many offline tasks begin, and it is very important because, even though I was always supervised, understanding the documentation helps you do better work from the start.

I also got to know Process Simulate, the software used for this specific client, where I worked on things such as optimising robot paths. I practised placing 3D parts in the virtual line and positioning them in the layout provided by the client, and I even created our own trajectory points for a real project the robotics department is currently developing with OLP tasks.

What were the highlights of your experience in terms of learning and professional development?

One thing I would especially highlight is the trust they placed in me from day one. During onboarding, they told me they would treat me as a teammate rather than as a student, and they proved that from the very beginning.

The fact that they trusted me, despite my limited technical knowledge at the time, gave me the confidence to believe that I was capable of making mistakes, learning from them, and proving my value without competitiveness and with humility, carrying out tasks calmly but confidently.

Did you face any specific challenge during your internship? How did you deal with it, and what did you learn from that situation?

I had a small misunderstanding with another intern. We have very similar personalities, and when we worked as a team we sometimes clashed when making decisions. Before it went any further, a colleague noticed the tension and helped us reflect on how important communication is in situations like that.

I also learned how important it is to compromise and to accept that your own way is not always the best one. By talking things through, we realised that listening and giving in sometimes leads to better results.

How do you think your internship at our company has prepared you for your future career in the automation industry?

I carried out real work tasks, which I value a lot, because people had told me that maybe during an internship I would only be wiring or doing boring jobs nobody wanted to do. Above all, I learned to use the software used for Virtual Commissioning.

I also worked side by side with professionals who genuinely wanted me to learn and dedicated time to teaching me.

Without knowing whether I might one day become direct competition, they shared all their knowledge with me. And not only on a technical level: they also shared many experiences that I hope will help me move forward carefully, but with confidence in what I am doing and in the professional I have become.

What specific skills or knowledge did you gain during your internship, and how do you think they will be useful in the future?

I consider myself an organised and responsible person, but those skills became even stronger here. I need to keep my work well organised for the colleague who will carry out the next steps, so they can clearly understand what I did and how, in an efficient and productive way.

What aspects of our company culture have you valued most during your time here?

That I have worked with true professionals. They never reacted badly to any of the questions I asked, even when that meant slowing down their own work. I would also highlight the trust I mentioned before, because it meant I could handle many tasks without constantly asking and still feel confident that I was doing them correctly.

Because of that, I would highlight the teamwork, the good working atmosphere, and the ability they give you to take ownership while still being supervised and taught. It is an environment of trust, professionalism, and very good energy.

How have you adapted to the pace of work and the responsibilities you were given during your internship?

At first, the pace felt intense to me because working life is completely different from student life. It is also a job with real pressure, and there is no point denying that. Still, I handled it very well, and it even motivated me to challenge myself and improve every day. So much so that I am already part of the company.

Was there any project or task you would have liked to work on but did not have the chance to during your internship? Why did that project interest you?

I would have liked to experience working in a factory abroad, but it could not happen this time. Even so, I visited a plant with a full-size industrial robot, which is really impressive, and I was able to reteach welding points, create new paths, and more. I also worked on building that same line virtually.

What advice would you give to future students who are considering doing their internship at our company?

If they have the opportunity, they should do their internship at RBX because I think it is one of the best decisions they can make. From the beginning, whenever I had any kind of problem, whether work-related or even a bit personal, people here not only listened to me, they took the time to sit down with me and help solve it.

On top of that, I gained new knowledge and expanded what I already knew, especially in Process Simulate, which I might not otherwise have had the chance to use and which I believe is extremely valuable and part of the future of industrial programming. I also met brilliant people who truly wanted to share their knowledge with me.
